GURUVAYUR TEMPLE

Guruvayur Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Guruvayurappan, a form of Vishnu, located in the town of Guruvayur in Kerala, India. It is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and is often referred to as Bhuloka Vaikunta (Vaikuntha in the earthly realm. The temple is managed by Guruvayur Devaswom under the control of the Government of Kerala. The main festivals of this temple are the 10-day festival in the Malayalam month of Kumbham starting with flag hoisting on Pooyam star, Shri Krishna Janmashtami (Birthday of Lord Krishna) in the month of Chingam, Ekadasi (11th day) in the shukla paksha in the month of Vrischikam, popularly called as Guruvayur Ekadasi and Vishu on the first day of the month of Medam, once a harvest festival.

DEVASWOM MUSEUM

Devaswom Museum, located inside the Sree Guruvayurappan Temple complex towards the east gate. The museum keeps an extensive collection of gorgeous and expensive offerings that have been made to the 5000-year old deity of the temple.The distance is approximately 500 meters.

MAMMIYOOR TEMPLE

Mammiyur Mahadeva Temple is a popular Shiva temple in Guruvayur. As per the ritual, devotees who go to Guruvayur temple should visit Mammiyoor Shiva temple too. The distance is only 1000 metre from the hotel.

SREE PARTHASARATHY TEMPLE

This temple may be seen close to the Guruvayur train station. According to the Bhagavad Gita, the shrine is devoted to Lord Krishana in his charioteer form. Those who appreciate Indian architecture are drawn to the temple by its architectural wonder. The hotel and the temple are both walkable distance away.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY - Anakkotta

Guruvayur temple has built a fort, Punnathur Kota, for elephants that is called Elephant sanctuary or Anakkotta in Malayalam parlance. This place houses around 60 elephants inside a sprawling campus of 11.5 acres. It is just 3kms away from the hotel.

THIRUVAMBADI SRI KRISHNA TEMPLE

Known as Kerala's cultural centre, Thrissur town is home to all three of these well-known temples. While the ancient Hindu temple of Vadakkumnathan is devoted to Shiva, the temple of Paramekkavu is a combination of Bagavathi and Thiruvambadi, housing the deities Bhadrakali and Krishna in the form of a child. There are 26 kilometres separating these three magnificent temples.

ATHIRAPILLI WATERFALLS

Kerala’s largest waterfall, Athirappilly Falls, stands tall at 80 feet. It is situated at Athirappilly in Chalakudy. This waterfall originates from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats at the entrance to the Sholayar ranges.The distance from the hotel is around 80km.
